Petra Dress Variations

This season, our lace flower girl dress "Petra" is pretty popular. It comes in the variety of combinations, but here I would like to show you some custom options, that were created based on our customer's requests. The photography might be not stellar, but sometimes I don't have time to wait for good lighting or setting, since we normally are trying to mail out our dresses as soon as possible.

First option - White Lace Petra dress with puffy sleeves from our Olga dress:

Second option - Big bow. Really, really BIG bow! Extra charge will apply, since it takes over 1 yard of silk to create this bow. Shown on Ivory dress, using Tan silk for the bow:

Third option - little faux pearl string at the chest level:

Some extras - embroidered kneeling pillows, guest book, ring pillow and the pen stand. We do not normally offer that (apart from the ring pillow), because these items are personalized and are rather time consuming to make, and really, we are better in dress making that in guest book making :) but this photo might inspire you to create your own set. You can purchase matching lace yardage from us.

Maui with Lace

One more custom creation: variation on our Maui Dress. At first we created the base dress. Then we attached lace cap sleeves, lined with silk tulle. Then we decorated the front of the sash and the bottom of the dress with lace cut-outs. This dress is simple, yet romantic, and was based on  the customer's ideas.

Below is one of the custom items, created per customer's sketch. Natural white silk dupioni dress with silk organza and tulle underskirt and ruffled bloomers (view from the back).

Antique Tablecloth linen dress

This dress is almost One-of-a-Kind. I think I have enough tablecloth left for a second dress, so it really should be called Two-of-a-Kind. This flower girl dress is made with antique linen table cloth that caught my eye with its neat hand-made cross-stitch embroidery and linen softness. This was my first time up-cycling antiques/vintages, and I enjoyed making this dress a lot.

Texture, baby-blue stitching, pink roses and petal pink silk sash make this dress a perfect match for an antique garden-style wedding. This particular dress is priced at $110. You can purchase it here, or give us a call at (626) 395-7445.

The dress is in size 3-4. The dress is 30" long (76cm), if the bottom hem is tucked in, it is 21" long (53cm). It would fit the child with 23" chest (58cm) and 22" waist (56cm), however you can move the buttons in and out a little to tighten it up a bit or to let it loose.

There is still enough fabric for a second up-cycled table cloth flower girl dress that can be made in a different size (I think, up to size 5). Two matching cross-stitch embroidered ring pillow can be also produced.

Sabrina in Metallic silks

For this customized Sabrina Dress, we used silk and metall blended fabrics. Even silk organza overlay is made with shiny metall! Sash is in Celery green tafetta.

This is Ice Pink Sasha with boat neck, cap sleeves and faux pearls waist decoration.

The second dress is Sasha dress in Natural colored silks. The base of the dress is Natural dupioni, skirt overlay is silk organza.

Custom color Karen and Mary dresses

It's been a while since we've posted new photos! Below is our Karen dress in custom color (Dove grey with black sash and bow). Bodice is silk taffeta, skirt - layers of crinkle chiffon. Also pictured are Karen and Mary dresses in Lilac.

Lace Applique, Extra Large Bow

Custom Cindy dress in Natural silk (with no organza overlay) and with Extra Large pre-knotted bow on the back. Customer asked us to match her swatch for the sash on the Cindy, and we did that by using 2 layers of fabric on the sash and bow. Also shown the same dress with regular sized bow alongside another Cindy flower girl dress and Jane Junior Bridesmaid dress. Customer decided to go with big bows on the back.

Custom Sofia Dress for Alyson, MA.

This white dress with black sash is based on our Sofia Dress, but the outer skirt layer is silk chiffon instead of our standard silk organza. Thank you, Alyson, for sharing with us those adorable photos!

Angela dress in Natural White with the following modifications:

- Ivory sash with bow on the front;

- Top layer of the skirt is uneven - much shorter on the front;

- Bottom hems are decorated with ivory chiffon.

Custom FlowerGirl dresses

These 3 flowergirl dresses were based on our Sofia flowergirl dress. They feature ivory silk bodice, pink dupioni skirt with crinkle chiffon overlay, build-in petticoats and oversized faux roses that were supplied by the customer. We loved working on this project!
